My Grandpa passed away last Wednesday, July 29, 2009. He was almost 92 years old. He was a great man and great example to me. I lived with them for 5 years while I attended Utah State and lived in Logan another 3 after that. Grandma, Grandpa and I became very close during that time. I have many, many memories with Grandpa and am glad my daughters have had opportunities to spend with him as well.
I loved the talks around the kitchen table, talking about life and our Savior, Jesus Christ. I enjoyed the times I had taking grandpa to the barber or the doctor. I enjoyed going to their ward with them. I was able to meet the people that my grandparents loved and cherished as friends. I loved giving him a little extra ice cream when I scooped up his dish, just to spoil him!Grandpa was a life-long learner and always encouraged education.
I am going to miss Grandpa, but I am so grateful for the Father's Plan that tells us we can live together eternally as families. Grandpa, thank you for teaching me and loving me. I am grateful that you no longer suffer with physical problems. I look forward to the day when we will be reunited once again! I love you, Grandpa!
