It's Done.....for Today

Laundry never ends.  After laundry comes the ironing....

For today--- it is done.

Loved

How do you know you are loved?   In our house, glitter.   Yes, glitter.  My girls have some beautiful pictures that are of princesses and there is TONS of glitter all over them.  Needless to say, there is glitter all over!

Baby brother is loved.  How do I know? He has glitter on his head. A loving sister must have been kissing on him!

My girls are loved.   How do I know?  One bath night the girls were not enthused, so Curtis convinced them if they would have a bath they would be *sparkling clean.*  The girls got finished with their baths and Curtis hurried downstairs saying, "Hurry, I need some glitter!"   I was confused, but after his explanation we found a glittered princess picture and he ran it back upstairs.  Then, he proceeded to sprinkle glitter on his girls so that they were sparkling clean!

It is common for Dad to have been glittered on the back of his pants.   The girls think that is great fun.  It is not uncommon to find Curtis' head shining more than normal with glitter there too!

There is love in our home.   How about yours?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lydia has been SO EXCITED for Valentine's Day!  She has been making Valentines since January.   So, I have been trying to make it extra special for her.  I hope she isn't disappointed.
Breakfast was Pink Heart Pancakes with Chocolate Chips.   Lunch was Ham Sandwiches made to order and then cut into hearts.   Dinner will be Heart Shaped Pizza from Papa Murphy's.

We also made sugar cookies.  I saw how to ice them on this blog . (I believe that there is nothing this woman cannot do!)   We are wrapping them up for the girls in dance class.

Happy Valentine's Day!  We love you!

Slip or Slide?

Today Lydia was wearing her slip under her white dress.  Maren saw it and asked what it was.  Lydia explained that it was her slip.  Lydia was on her way upstairs to change her clothes and Maren reminded her, "Don't forget to take off your slide!"

Halloween

The Annual "Go to Daddy's Work to Trick or Treat" was today.    The girls look forward to it every year!   We count down to the day.   This year, I made Curtis dress up as well....Lucky guy.

My Cousin works with Curtis.  These are his cute girls with our fairies!
We even had an Elvis sighting!

Bandaid

Lydia had a "I Voted" sticker and put it on her leg.   She was pretending it was a Band-aid.   Lydia was ready to take her Band-aid off and Maren told her not to.  She explained, the doctor said she needed it because she had blood in there and it would splat on the floor!

My Hair

This morning, as Lydia was getting her hair done she told me, "Mom, your hair looks like Frankenstein."    I had already gotten ready for the day.   Maybe I shouldn't go out in public today!?

This is the Man I married.

So, Curtis came home early on Thursday to say that he came home to paint and proceeded to take things off the walls.   He painted Thursday until Saturday night.  I was shocked!  I know how much he hates painting.   What started as a kitchen/dining room/ family room paint job became a kitchen/dining room/ family room/accent wall/living room/up the stairs/in the hall paint job!   I definitely felt loved that he would spend his days off to paint my home!!!

So, this is the man I married-   I married a man that paints the house and has his girls come running inside to say, "Daddy, we were digging outside and we think we found a dinosaur bone!   We need your help to get it out!!"   So, he puts down the brush and roller and heads outside to help his girls with their "dinosaur bone" also known as really hard dirt clod.

I married a man who when his girls ask to help paint, he gives them a brush and let's them take a turn, even if it slows him down and adds a little extra work and cleanup.

I married a man who  while up on a tall ladder was greeted by his girls panicking that there was a bug on their huge sunflowers (they were drying out so that we could harvest the seeds).   He climbs down to go "save" the sunflowers (the flowers he classifies as "weeds" anyway) for his girls.  He came inside to inform me that it was a tiny black & white garden spider on a black and white sunflower seed and he had no idea how they even saw it!

I married a man who taught me this weekend what it means to be a good father- to stop no matter what job you are doing- to be a parent who creates memories and, as a result,  is adored by his girls!

I love you, Curtis (and so do your girls)!
